nothing found

This is funny, when I tried looking up for diet pills that work in my browser, it says nothing found for diet pills that work. I think it is true in some sense. Because for a diet pill to work you have to work too. I've tried a lot of pills when I was still single and younger and I won't recommend it to anyone unless you have consulted a doctor. I remember a diet pill (which is the biggest diet pill I've ever seen) I took few years ago, it didn't work and worst my life was put to danger. One day I found my self having hard time breathing and there was a pain in my chest. I got so worried and I stopped it.

Best thing to do if I want to lose weight? exercise and eat right. And the best of all have self discipline.

Go..do it Raquel!!!

Printing t-shirts and some tasks

Happy Monday everyone!!

I hope I started the day early but I am forgiving myself because we slept real late last night. I wanted to start the day early and my week early because we have lots of things to do. My husband especially is super busy with his silk screen printing and with that I am planning to do the Business Name registration this week. We wanted to do it right and we wanted to issue official receipts to our clients and we don’t want to be called fly by night supplier even if it is just small. Worst I don’t want someone calling as scam like the apidexin scam issues spreading over the net.

So, we have to register it and I want to do it the soonest possible time. Church anniversary is on Sunday and we have tasks to finish, the husband is in charge with the stage backdrop and of course the worship team. He has yet to finish the shirts the Sunday Schoolers are wearing on that day too.

May god give us all the strength we need.

GOD IS FAITHFUL

"God is Faithful"

This was the preachers' topic this morning. And you may say that "oh yeah..it is usually a common topic among preachers just like how common we talked about weight-loss products" but I tell you it is entirely different when you hear it from someone who had to give up a good,decent and stable life just to follow the Lord.

Our speaker this morning is one of the first missionaries our church have sent to foreign missions. He was a Doctor and he earns a lot here during that time but when he obeyed, he gave it all up and followed the Lord in a foreign land where he didn't know anyone, a place where he did not know if he can still provide well for his family.But God honored his decision and HE is indeed faithful.

Somehow I feel it is hard to obey God when you have to give up something big in your life like career but God is bigger than anything in this world right?

I think God has been talking to me through out the whole service and I pray that I will get to listen to His voice, obey Him and choose Him for He is faithful.

Good night everyone!

I was supposed to upload the hygiene pictures today but our internet connection is acting up. It is a lot slower than usual and opening a website takes longer than it normally does. I didn’t dare tried uploading at facebook because I know I won’t finish it. Hopefully I’ll get it done by tomorrow. For the mean time I am gonna rest now because I’ve been working since morning and tomorrow is Sunday. I have to remind my self again that Sunday Worship begins Saturday night. So off to bed  I’ll go now folks but not right after reading about this cheap insurance quotes.

Hope you all go to church tomorrow and enjoy worshiping the Lord with your church family, but in case you can't, enjoy GOD's presence whatever you will be doing.
God bless!!

Tired but Joyful

God is so good!!

Today was our hygiene day, our day started earlier than usual.I was up before 8 AM and was already at the center at around 8:20 AM.

The event went well, we have 49 kids in the morning and 42 kids in the afternoon. It is sad though that one area didn't make it so all in all we 91 kids served. We bathed them, we treated them with lice shampoo and please don't ask me how many head lice we were able to remove because it's too many. Good thing I was able to buy a good hair lice treatment shampoo in this pharmacy I'll if they have the best hair loss shampoo too. We cleaned their wounds, their earls and clipped their ears. We even bought a pair of slipper to a kid who came there without slipper.

The kids were happy after all the things we've done to them. They looked all beautiful and nice with their new haircut and with their new hygiene kit :)

It was tiring but it was worth it.

Again, thank you for all those who supported us. May the Lord bless you a hundred fold.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Pictures to follow :)

Hygiene Day tomorrow!!

Tomorrow is the big event for our kids ministry, “back to school-hygiene day” is happening tomorrow and for sure volunteers will be needing the best wrinkle cream after, hehe. Dealing with hundreds of kids is no joke.

But of course, I know that as we serve these kids we are doing it also for the Lord, in return God will give us JOY that is embedded deed within. Joy that can not be bought and if you are joyful you will not be needing any creams at all to make you feel and look young.

Please pray that this ministry will be instrumental for the kid’s family to come to know Jesus Christ.

Intercede for us please. We need it.

Thankful Thursday

It is good to praise the Lord
and make music to your name, O Most High,
to proclaim your love in the morning
and your faithfulness at night,
to the music of the ten-stringed lyre
and the melody of the harp.
For you make me glad by your deeds, O Lord;
I sing for joy at the works of your hands.
How great are your works, O Lord,
how profound your thoughts!

Psalm 92:1-5
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's Thankful Thursday today and I am praising God and thanking Him for the following;
1. Hubby is doing good in his t-shirt printing sideline. He was able to replaced the tires of our motorbike this week and the money was from that small business. Praise God!
2. We were able to come to PASSION MANILA, hubby as audience and me as a volunteer. I can not describe the feeling seeing thousand of people gathering for only one name. JESUS is alive in Manila.
3. God is steering us to HIS plan for us. The ride might not always be smooth but knowing that God's hand is there to guide you is comforting enough. We will be living a new way of life in the next couple of months or next year, maybe a new environment, new house where I can put an outdoor furniture, a garden and a bigger place for hubby's printing business. It will be completely different from what we used to but we are excited.
4. for the opportunity to serve Him in a lot of ways, I have limited time due to work but I am thankful I can still serve in that small time I have.
What are you thankful for this week? Laurie is still hosting. Share your thankful heart and be a blessing to us!
I was there -PASSION MANILA
and though I was not able to watch the whole thing still I went home blessed and inspired.
I was a volunteer and I am more than happy to help behind the scene. We are assigned to help the more than 10,000 people go in and out of the Araneta Coliseum smoothly. And through out the concert, I remained posted and was in continuous prayer as advised by our team leader. Sure it was tiring, walking here and there and it was hot outside the dome and poor me I forgot to bring water, sure I sweat as if I am running a treadmill ( at least I lost some pounds without the help from fat burner pills and my legs were numb but I was in awe. Hearing a united voice shouting the name of JESUS is amazing.
         our wristbands
It was an unforgettable experience. And I would gladly do it again. Can't wait for 2012.
Praying for a ministry VAN
Please pray with us for a ministry vehicle, probably an AUV type van. I see the need of this for our children’s ministry. Like this Saturday, we will be transporting the kids from their community to the center for the Hygiene Day and we do not have a van, good thing God led us to a neighbor who is willing to lend his van this Saturday.
I will ask for quotation next week so we would know how much funds we would need and how much amount we should be praying for. I am definitely not looking at rv for sale but will go into second hand van for sale if possible. Estimated amount needed for the vehicle is more or less US$13,000 for brand new.
Please..please pray for us. This would really help us in doing the ministry.
Thanks and Blessings to you all!!
Thankful Thursday - REST
It's thankful Thursday once again and Laurie of Women taking a stand is hosting.
I like what she wrote on her post, it's a reminder to everyone of us to use our time wisely.
This week I am thankful the Lord has given me time to REST. I was sick yesterday and I wasn't able to come to office, and though I feel a lot better today I still opted to stay home and rest. In this chaotic and busy world, we all need to rest at some point and if you are not resting the Lord will force you to rest. I guess that's what He did to me which I am thankful.
What are you thankful for this week?
Heat and Finances
How’s your Sunday everyone? Mine was not good, I woke up with a terrible headache this morning probably due to heat and to lack of sleep for the past week. I was not able to attend church which makes it all the more worst. As they say, “seven days without church makes one weak”.
Anyways, it is still intolerably hot in my part of the globe. And a lot are getting sick. In this times that I really really wish we had an air conditioner but these are also financially tough time plus another addition to our already high electricity bill will also be awfully sad. That is why I have to work doubly hard, online and offline. It is even harder when you have no savings at all, it’s like you seems lost when you found your self suddenly in need of fast cash and you have no where to go to. Good thing to those employers are understanding and can afford Payday Loans but what about those who can’t? Like in our company, I don’t think they do offer that. My co-employees resort to loaning from personal friends rather than in the company which is better because friends do understand.
And because I am still in this humid, hot, warm country, let me share with you some tips how to cool your self if you don’t have an air conditioned room.
1. Drink lots of water (cold water if possible) –I’ve probably been consuming more than 8 glasses a day.
2. Ice is my best friend today – I got some cube ice, put in o towel, then place it to my face and neck from time to time. It helps big time.
3. Open all your windows and let some fresh air (if there is) come inside the room. Open all the curtains-I also opened our door.
4. Wear sleeveless, spaghetti strap, sandos or any clothes that are comfortable and cool enough for you.
Thankful Thursday
I slept and woke up with a heavy heart, I logged in to facebook and saw this message in one of my friends’ status:
“ When God is trying to move us from one level to the next, we always have to be separated from something that we are strongly attached to. You can't go where you want to go & stay where you are, But keep in mind that whatever GOD is asking you to give up & go thru, He will give you the strength to handle it"
I closed my eyes and thanked Him for the guidance which I prayed for last night.
But still am praying for the courage and the strength. Something came up that could help us financially but still leaving something you're attached to is not easy.
What are you thankful for this week? A new HDTV? Blessings? Trials? whatever it is..share it with us. Laurie is hosting and we will be glad to see you there.
A wife of a noble character
There is a blog or site I read that focus on Proverbs 31. And we all know that it is about the wife of noble character. Reading and meditating those verses made me check on how I am faring on that said wife. And truth to be told (and it hurts), she was far beyond compare.
Her character as a wife is rare, precious, trustworthy and kind. – I might be trustworthy, I might be rare or precious (at lest for my husband) but I don’t think I am kind at all times.
Her devotion as a homemaker – good steward, diligent, works joyfully, disciplined and a lot more – which I failed but I shall fail forward. I will strive to at least have one of her many good characters as a homemaker.
She’s generous as a neighboor – Verse 20
She’s god fearing, she’s honored, she’s a devoted teacher and mother.
~~~~
I haven’t seen such a woman in my life. But I know a lot who strive to be like her. And I am sure the Lord will honor the desire of our heart.

In this new and developed world we live in, no one wants to be homemaker anymore, women with successful career leave the homemaking job to the maidservants, nannies and helpers. You can even take a look at many womens dresses now, what do you think is the big difference? I don’t think womens apparel should be very very revealing to the point that you are showing everything in the public. I am very conservative when it comes to dressing maybe it is because I was raised in a conservative home.

Anyways, it is still us who will carry ourselves outside and as long as you do your duty as a Christian women (being light and salt) of this world , I think it doesn’t matter what kind of clothes you wear or what kind of work you do.

Cheers to all the women who are in pursuit of Provers 31!!!!
~~~~~
PROVERBS 31
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
God bless the PHILIPPINES
The Philippines has its new President and I wish him all the best in his gargantuan task to lead this country to healing and recovery. I’m sure he will be needing the best anti- wrinkle creams because of the many problems our country is facing right now.
I pray he will do something to at least alleviate the POVERTY in this land.
I pray he will keep his promise-that he will not be a corrupt President that he will give to people what is due to them.
It’s time to move on and to forget the ugly thoughts and words during the campaign period.
GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES
Mother's day @ the church
So this is how we celebrate the Mother's day today at the church, All the children who have moms there were called in the front then they gave flowers (some have cards) to their moms and all the moms were also asked to come to front with their kids and then they hugged and the Leaders prayed fro mothers. I cried for two things :
1. I miss my mom so much
2. I have yet to be called a mom
You can not measure how great a mother's love is, I can tell how big their heart is for their children.
My mom whom I call Nanay did things for me even when I am already grown up and working,she will wash my office uniforms I am too tired to do that, she will prepare my food and even now that she's old (she's 71) she's never too tired to serve us all. I really miss her.
I can imagine her asking me what I want to eat whenever I go home to our home province and I'm sure if she's with me right she'll ask what I need and chat with me while I am bloging, surfing ,playing games and reading this lipozene reviews in the net.
She's very hardworking and I love her very very much. She's coming here on the 17th and we hope to have a belated Mother's day celebration by then.
How about you? How did you celebrate Mother's day today? Did you call your mom? didi you sned her gifts?
Praying for Thailand
This is next in line for our short mission trip. The husband has been praying for it years ago. It started when someone prayed for him at the church and saw a vision of him in Thailand. Since then, he has been praying and he's been longing to see what God has planned for him in that country.
We are praying that the trip will happen this year, probably on the last quarter of the year. I've also been reading a lot about Thailand and I know for a fact that the weather there is also very humid. Just like in Sabah where temperature is also super warm and humid, plain walking will get you all sweaty , a natural belly fat burner I must say.
Here are more facts from the CIA world factbook:
RELIGION : Buddhist 94.6%, Muslim 4.6%, Christian 0.7%, other 0.1% (2000 census)
LANGUAGE:Thai, English (secondary language of the elite), ethnic and regional dialects
CLIMATE: Current Weather : tropical; rainy, warm, cloudy southwest monsoon (mid-May to September); dry, cool northeast monsoon (November to mid-March); southern isthmus always hot and humid
Please join us in praying for Thailand.
Aquarium Fish I like
Me and my husband are considering getting ourselves an aquarium fish/es since we can not have dogs or any pets in the house we are renting we thought fish/es would do good. A friend actually encouraged us to have one. He said aquarium fish is not hard to maintain, there are variety of fish that are not expensive and fish food I think is not that costly too.
But what made me thought about it seriously is the benefits you can get for having such. Like the following:
1. It is a good therapy
2. Studies say that gazing at it reduces stress (i need that)
3. It lowers blood pressure
and a lot more. But for the "reduce stress" benefit, I think I'm gonna go for it.
Do you have an aquarium fish? How do you take care of it? Is it expensive? How many times do you clean it?
Thankful Thursday
This week I am thankful for the good heart of two people from other country who is going to support our "BACK TO SCHOOL-HYGIENE DAY" program. In times where need is great and ministry funds are low, the Lord knows whom to send. They are going to give money for the stuff we need, we are giving each kid a health kit which contains toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap, shampoo, face towel, cotton buds and some band aids.
This ministry aims to teach the kids the value of cleanliness and health especially those kids that are living in shanties in the Urban poor areas of Metro Manila.
Thank you Lord for bringing people into this ministry. Bless them a thousand fold.
What are you thankful for this week? Share it with us, let's meet up at Laurie of Women Taking  A Stand Blog.
The last days
Way back year 1999 was quite a year for us.. or for me as a person. It was the time where I took serious relationship with Jesus. It was the time when our youth group at church did was pray and fast and share the good news of Jesus to people of every age in the streets near. The reason why we were like that? …was because it was said that it’s the end of the world.
Remember Y2K? people said it’s the end of the everything, the end of the world, the second coming of Jesus, the tribulation, the apocalypse. It is said that the last days are critical times. There would be plague, war, famine and all sort of agonizing moments the human being could think about. Some religious group said it’s the appointed time written in the Bible. Unforeseen occurrence will happen. So everyone was scared and there was even a panicked… religious groups where everywhere preaching the coming of Jesus.
Some even predicts the day and time. It was ridiculous, looking back. No one really knows when is the end of time or the last days. All we know is that there is end and we know that when end is near there’s turmoil everywhere for that is the sign but to know the exact time? .. uh uh! God only knows.
~~~
I have seen loads of movies about the last days and sure they are scary, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, global warming and all, but guess what? If you are sure of what you hope for, there is nothing to be afraid of.Why be afraid? when in fact last days actually means the coming of our SAVIOR!!

Goodbye Rachael

Today we said goodbye to our dear missionary from UK, RACHAEL JACKSON.

It was actually a week long of goodbyes and tears and to say that the church is sad is an understatement. Rachael is not just a visiting missionary, she has become part of our ministries here, she has become family to many of us. Sending her to airport tonight, seeing her enter that door and at the same time trying to withhold tears is tough. But we did let her go because we know God has the best plans for her future and we know in our hearts that we will always be a part of her life. We shared tons of memories for the whole year she stayed with us, from laughter to tears, from victories to disappointments, from planning to executing, from meetings to ministries, from coffee to dinner, from swimming pools to beaches and from embracing to letting go.

We spent many hours planning about the "Praisin Kid's Town in October 2009"

We spent lots of coffee time for hygiene days. Thinking of what to include in the health kit we will give to kids and from buying all the stuff in Divisoria.

We talked about almost everything from make -ups to movies, from baking to laundry, almost everything, i guess we even talked about hair loss cure. It was a year filled with memories that will be kept in every heart that has become part of Rachael's life.

Again, we thank you my dear for being such a HUGE blessing to the FISHNETS ministries and to LJBC Church. Rest assured that we will never ever forget you. We look forward to seeing you here again soon!!

May the Lord bless you a thousand folds in return. And always remember that your Filipino family will always be here for you. I LOVE YOU!
