Thankful Monday #1

Isn't it great to give thanks to the Lord on the first day of work week? For years, I often complain about Monday mornings only because it's the first day of work week and I want to change that habit now.

So, from now on. I will write a thankful post here every Monday. That would give me a happy disposition every Monday morning, I'm sure it will also bring positive and good thoughts and who wouldn't want that di ba?

So here's my Monday thankful list :)

1. Thankful for the good Sunday worship service yesterday. Grateful for the message "signs of the times".

2. Thankful for very very good friends I have in the church.

3. A lot has colds and flu last week. I am thankful, me and my husband are both doing fine.

4. I am also extremely grateful for the house where we currently live now. Yes, it is small but it is free :) and is helping us a lot to save for our own house someday. And small as it is yet, we can still share it to people we love :) It has flaws and the husband think we need high temperature adhesive for the roof and ceiling but still my heart is very grateful for it.

5. Thankful that we both have a job and although most of the time we think that our salaries aren't enough, still I am thankful for the regular income we get every 15th and 30th.

So there you go!! Actually, I could go on and on and on but the post will be too long...

It is so good to give thanks to the Lord!!! You never run out of stuff to give thanks to :)

Take Courage! I am here!

What do you fear?

Is it financial ruin, loneliness, pain, poor health, or the collapse of your family? When you feel afraid, and fear has its strong grip on you, remember this: God is with you. Acknowledging this will allow you to conquer your fear and steady your steps.as you move forward, step by step, your fear will fade away as you recognize that your strength is with God.

He is with you.

Going Natural

Slowly, we’re switching to natural products. As you age you start to feel your body and its complaint. And if we don’t listen, we’re sure to suffer the consequence. I know how health issues can hinder us from doing the ministries and as much as possible we all want to be healthy so we can be ready anytime to do the work.

So as I have said, I am trying to switch to natural products, even with the food and with the way I cook food. I noticed the big difference when I used Human Nature’s shampoo. I have less falling hair now compared to when I used non natural shampoo. Now, am into human nature products na :)  I also am looking for natural cleaning products like laundry soap and others.

Natural is way much better. Can you imagine all the harmful chemicals we get from the products we use everyday (without us knowing it)?

Some products might be more expensive but I guess it is more expensive to see a Doctor from time to time :)

Have a healthy life everyone!! Blessings!!

Top 10 - Character Counts

Written by Harold Herring

10. Never stereotype anyone based on their net worth or the lack thereof.

9. How a person responds to having money will reveal their true character…who they really are. Money is just a reflection.

8. Your potential isn’t limited by your actions but rather your beliefs. Mark 9:23.

7. You have something special to achieve in your life because God made sure you were born…you are not an accident. Jeremiah 1:5

6. Never let what you can’t do…keep you from doing what you can do…today.

Here are the Top 5 Rich Thoughts Nuggets of the week.

 5. Delay is a favorite deceptive and tactical weapon of the enemy. He knows delay often fuels the doubts he seeks to create.

4. It’s the character of a person’s heart and not the balance in their checkbook or lack thereof that determines who they are.

3. Your destiny is not determined by chance but by choice.

2. Never be moved by your circumstances or the opinions of others...base your decisions on the Word of God and nothing else.

 1. People get themselves into financial trouble because they’re always comparing themselves to others and what they have or don’t have.

Class/Work suspended

Classes suspended today and so is work. It rained hard last night and been raining the whole day, thus the cancellation, you know how it is here in Manila, continuous hours of rain equals flooding of streets :(

My nephews and nieces are all happy with the class cancellation (am sure a lot of  students feels the same way) I was like that too when I was still a student. Class suspension means fun to me. I wish though I knew about student educational travel back then, I would have probably gone to many beautiful places each and every time the class is suspended..hehe.

But anyway, since there is no work today, we stayed home and I slept. :)

Rudolf read and started his preparation for the upcoming worship camp. This is for the worship team of our church including all the outreaches so he really has to prepare. I am also speaking in one session so I need to prepare too.

Please include this worship camp in your prayer. Thanks!!

Philippians 4:8

Ever heard of the saying “You are what you eat?” well, the same is true with your thoughts; you become what you think. Fixing our thoughts on the positive allows our outlook to be positive, even if we are surrounded by negativity. Paul is trying to show us that we can rise above behaviors we detest. It all starts with thoughts, which lead to actions, and eventually become habits.

Top 10 - Turning Potential Into Success

9. What you affirm. . .you confirm. What you confess. . you will possess.

8. Doubt will never produce the harvest you desire.

7. Wishing, hoping and over sleeping will never make your dreams come true but a plan, timeline, diligence and the right attitude will.

6. God has given you the ability to perform at a level you never thought possible. He sees greater potential in you than you see in yourself.

Keep the fire!

Today, while reading on the book of Leviticus, this particular verse spoken to me

And while the altar being referred here was the altar of burnt offering, that is actually a particular instruction for the priest and it was mentioned also on verse 12, meaning it is important for God to keep that fire burning, he even said "it must not go out"

It seems God is also saying to me "Raquel, the fire must be kept burning in your heart, it must not go out" God knows the current state of my heart and HE exactly knows what I need. He deeply cares for me. I am once again amazed of how loving our Lord is.

Now, going back to the altar of burnt offering, it said in Leviticus that the priest is to add firewood to keep the fire(6:12) Isn't it the same with the altar in our hearts? We should "do some work" to keep that fire. Prayer, worship, reading God's word and fellowship can be the firewood. It will surely keep the fire burning.

The world may keep us so busy with all the things that going on in our lives. Work, deadlines, ministries and other stuff  that gives us less time to pray, to worship, to meditate on God's word thus making the fire in our hearts flicker.

It is so clear, God wants us to spend time with Him. God wants me to spend quality time with Him.

KEEP THE FIRE.

~*~

Anyways, in a totally different topic, those who are having pest problem in their home, you can now  buy termidor online, aren't you amaze that everything is being offered online nowadays?  maybe  that's to keep up with this busy world no?

well, even how busy you are, please do not forget your personal time with God. It is so important, it gives us the energy :)

Blessings everyone!!

Skill That Can Slay a Giant

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.”
(Proverbs 18:16, NASB)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
When people hear the story of David and Goliath, sometimes they think, “That was all God.” And yes, in a sense, I know it was God. But the truth is that God didn’t sling the stone. God didn’t cause it to hit at just the right spot. It was the skill God gave David that he had developed.
Like David, God has put in you skill that can slay a giant. You have skill that can open new doors, skills that can lead to an abundant life, but the key is that your skill has to be developed. Every day that you spend growing, learning and improving, you’re getting prepared for that new level.
Today, while you’re waiting for that new opportunity, start sharpening your skills. Study your boss. Study your manager. Learn that position. Be able to step into their shoes. When God sees that you are prepared, then He can open new doors. The scripture says, “Your gifts will make room for you.” Keep developing your skills because there is a giant slayer in you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for depositing in me everything that I need for life and godliness. I choose to be faithful with what You have given me. I choose to sharpen my skills. Help me prepare for every opportunity You have for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Organ lesson for me!

that's me! :)

I have started my basic organ/keyboard lesson last Saturday. Informal lesson it is but still I am delighted that I’ve already started.

So far, I learned the basic keys and the correct finger position. I hope to have another brief session next week :)

My teacher? none other than my husband. Free lessons for now. Will have to go to formal lesson when I have my own instrument na.

I so want to have my own organ already, we again scouted last Saturday but we just can't afford it right now, specially a brand new one, I am still opting for a second hand and cheap one, not even as expensive as those excellent m audio sbx10 at musician's friend, praying I'll have my wish granted before this year ends.

Anyways, hooray for me for starting and I hope I can carry on till I get to play on my own :)
