Discovering My Ministry

I am back to teaching Class 301 which is “Discovering my Ministry” by Rick Warren. It is a series of discipleship our church uses for each and every member.

And being back to teaching that gave me time to reflect also about the ministries I am in now.

Is this what God really wants? Am I Shaped for this? Am I happy? Am I fruitful?

And again the realization that ministry means to serve using whatever God has given you.

Talents, time, money, strength and many more.

I actually wanted to say no to this teaching class but I am happy I did not. God spoke to me during the first session and I know he will minister to me to while teaching this.

On the other note, hubby and I are planning (wishing) to have at least two weeks holiday before I formally transfer to the new company. I wish I could spend those two weeks in our province with my mother and father. It is not as grand as Florida vacations but the time I will be spending with my parents is priceless. I just want to spend time with them.

Watching the funeral and necrological service for our late President who was a mom to five children made me want to have more time with my parents before it is too late.

About Disputes & Quarrels

"Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice" (Proverbs 13:10)

"Without wood a fire goes out; without gossip a quarrel dies down." (Proverbs 26:20)

"He who loves a quarrel loves sin; he who builds a high gate invites destruction." (Proverbs 17:19)

"A hot-tempered (person) stirs up dissension, but a patient (person) calms a quarrel" (Proverbs 15:18)

"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Those who oppose him, he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will" (2 Timothy 2: 23-26)

"What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight.. . Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." (James 4: 1 - 2, 17)

"You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?" (1 Corinthians 3:3)

"I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing." (1 Timothy 2: 8)
