Quiet Waters

Psalm 23:2-3 (NIV). He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.......

Thoughts on This Verse... Some of us won't slow down for anything! Well, almost anything. ...When we get''too full ourselves'' and too caught up in our own plans, the LORD, our Shepherd, slows us down and makes us lie down. Our Shepherd knows we need rest, nourishment, and refreshment and helps us, yes and even sometimes makes us, find''green pastures'' and''still waters.'' He then leads us in the direction of his righteousness and holiness once we are rested and refreshed. Isn't it interesting that God's order for our life is always grace and then glory?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
God you are amazing!!!Thank you for this very timely message, Lord I pray that I'll be refreshed and rested in your presence today.
Giving up?
Nothing of value is ever accomplished by giving up. When you are tempted to give up, pray, "GOD HELP ME!" Take one more step and then another one more, and all will be enough. Quitting is not an option when you have a passion for success."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I read that in someone's status over a social networking site in time when I needed to hear it most. The last few weeks was chaotic and you guess I got tired and sometimes there is that feeling that you just want to give it all up, quit and walk away.

But thank you Lord for reminding me that I AM MORE THAN CONQUEROR. I AM VICTORIOUS and I should think and act like one. We should right?

We all do have our battles, some have small and some have big, some trivial and some are major battle. And we quit, we ca will never win, we don't even give our self to win if we quit. Like in losing weight, if you give up then you will not lose any pounds (which of course reminds me of the curvatrim review I just read and my own battle with the bulge.)

What are your battles? FINANCES? SICKNESS? FAMILY? whatever it is you facing right now I tell you if you don't give up YOU WILL WIN just think of  your self as MORE THAN CONQUERORS.

Thankful Thursday

Today is Thursday and as said by Lynn let us give thanks.

What am I thankful for this week? Here it is, please read on.

My brother in law who is also a missionary and who lives in our church was hospitalized last Tuesday morning.It was me and my husband who brought him to the hospital, he was experiencing abdominal pain and he was throwing up the whole Monday night so we brought him to the hospital.

The doctor found out that he has internal bleeding due to some pain killers he took for his toothache the last few days. Further lab test showed he has very low hemoglobin (red in the blood) so there was a need for blood transfusion. It was a major test again for me and my husband and for my brother in law because you know, missionaries aren't being paid and hospitalization means money here whether in government or private hospital.

But guess what? yes, missionaries are not being paid here on earth but surely God is taking care of them. He was out now from the hospital just this morning and he will be staying in our house for the mean time.I'm sure he will be able to rest well if he's in our home. Good thing we just fixed the bathroom light fixtures last week.

God has proven us His word again that "He will never leave us, nor forsake us" To God be the glory!

I also thank the Lord for giving us friends who are so supportive, my brother in law needed a blood donor and lots of them went to the hospital,very much willing to donate.

I thank God for sustaining me and my husband. My hubby donated also blood despite of the stress and sleepless night because he watched over his brother.

And through all these events..I still proclaim and I always will that GOD IS GOOD!!

Verse of the Day from facebook

Here is your Verse of the Day:

Psalm 34:1 (NIV). I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.......

Thoughts on This Verse...

One way to keep our life on track and our hearts surrendered to the will and work of God is to praise our glorious LORD continually. Let's put our praise for God on our lips with song and memorized Scripture. Let's tell his wonderful and great deeds to our children, grandchildren, and friends. Let's give him thanks for all that he has done for us. Just as surely as he is with us always (see Ps. 139), let's praise him always.

Blessed be your name

"Blessed be your name
on the road marked
with suffering
Though there's pain
in the offering
Blessed be your name"

Shall we only praise God when we are happy? when our life is in "almost perfect" condition?
when we are blessed in abundance? when we are in the peak of our career? when we are healthy and strong?

The last month has been a testing of faith in me again in terms of finances and most of the time it's draining my physical and spiritual health. One morning..I asked  those questions to my self and I ended up praising God and singing songs for Him.

No matter what our situation is, it is best to praise and bless the Lord for He is faithful and He is good even if we are in a bad situation.

Tomorrow is Sunday and we are singing that song in the church, I pray that people will really worship the Lord with all their hearts and focus on His goodness. And with that.. I need to sleep early so I won't be late in church tomorrow. I'll just read the noxycut reviews now and hit the bed in a while.

Remember to REJOICE ALWAYS :) I still have loads of financial problem but  my God will supply all my needs so there is no reason not to praise and worship Him!!

Glasses and a relax weekend

Finally weekend is here :) It was a busy week for me and my husband, me at work and him with the kid's ministry. Vacation Bible School is over and we're looking forward to a more relax days next week. I now have the chance to read Eric's Review of Zenni Optical because again hubby's eyeglasses is worn out and he's thinking of a replacement but we want to only have those with the Lowest Price Progressive Glasses, because that's what we can afford. Been thinking about getting him one from The #1 online Rx glasses store but still we have to wait for the budget.
I think he would love this

In this tough time, we don't just buy unless we need it. We need to save and save and save for our future plans. This year we still see more short term mission trip and we need to save for that.

Anyways, here's for a more relax weekend :)

4th wedding anniversary

Today we celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary. We will not have any celebrations unlike before but it doesn't mean that today is not special. Rudolf will be in the church to help in the DVBS and I will be in the office. And even if we have time I still don't think our finances will allow us to have a celebration or sort not after the recent one month mission trip in Sabah.

Here is our written wedding vows 4 years ago but it was in Tagalog (our native tounge). We had a Filipino theme wedding thus explains our Tagalog invites, Tagalog vows and Tagalog ceremony.

Ours was just a simple and intimate wedding, we didn't have diamonds in our wedding rings,we didn't have the best wedding supplier int town but we had "God's best"  and that was more than enough.

We are only on our 4th and it's still a long way to go but it's ok, we know we are going there together and whatever path we take we will hold hands forever.

"what God hath joined together, let no man separate"

THANK YOU LORD FOR  BEING FAITHFUL FOR US FOR FOUR YEARS !!!

Kids Ministry -DVBS

Daily vacation Bible school is currently on going in our church. DVBS is an annual summer activity for the kids. This year’s theme is “CARING FOR THE PLANET” which I find great because it is not only good but also necessary to teach the kids about our home planet with climate change and global warming happening today.

Dear husband is teaching the kids all the songs about the planet and he has been singing it whole week in our house :)

Yesterday was the first day and as usual it is chaotic, what can you expect to have less than 100 kids at the church at one time? Who would need an alli weight loss with that? :) But I am sure the volunteer teachers were able to handle them. I wish I was there to help the whole week but I have work. But my mind was with the DVBS the whole day yesterday.

Today is the second day and can't wait to hear stories from hubby later :)

Busy but good weekend

hello!! how's everyone? How's your weekend? How did you spend it? Did you go to church? Did you spend it with your family?

We had a pretty busy weekend for ministries but it was good. It started last Friday night, we lead the worship in the ACLIM's 3rd Anniversary.

Saturday morning, dear husband went with our church husband's swimming fellowship and in the afternoon we went to Divisoria to buy the supplies needed for the Daily Vacation Bible School for kids. Saturday evening, we had the regular worship team practice for the Sunday Worship. This time though, we started to have prayer time first before the proper rehearsal. I hope and pray that we will continue to do this. Prayer is an integral part of worship. And as I have said before God is teaching not only me and the worship team but our church as well to spend more time in prayer.

Sunday Worship was great! It was so pleasant to see people lifting their hands to God, worshiping Him, opening their hearts to God and I know that's because someone (some) prayed.

Sunday evening, we were invited to a swimming farewell party and off we went, it was an hour and a half travel with our motorbike (quite far actually) but it's ok, along our way we passed by a certain Auto Show (for sure there are Ferrari parts on sale there so we we're slightly held in a traffic.

We just arrived home few hours ago. It's already Monday morning (2 AM exact time). It was a busy and long weekend but it was good.

Have a nice week everyone!!

Prayer Request

Our worship team which is being led by my husband is leading the worship tonight for the ACLIM's (Association of Christian Leaders in Makati) anniversary. It is a big event and the audience I presumed will all be leaders and Pastors from different churches in Makati.

We ask for your prayers please:

~ pray that we will be able to lead them to worship God in tonight's service
~ pray for the moving of the Holy Spirit even during worship time.
~ please pray for these Christian Leaders that they will have wisdom and passion in serving God in their own areas.

Thank you and to GOD be all the GLORY!!!

Thankful Thursday-Prayer

"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name: make known among the nations what he has done"
Psalm 105:1My yahoo messenger status for the whole week is “God is good all the time” because He really is. Even when we are in bad situations, even if economy is bad, even if our health is not in good condition, even if relationships are broken, even if our heart is down, and even if we are BAD, God remains to be good. ALL THE TIME.

And I thank Him so much for that. Because of His goodness I am always being restored.

This week He’s teaching me about prayer. The book “fresh wind and fresh fire” by Jim Cymbala has opened my eyes anew about how prayer works. I also watch the video “My house will be called a house of prayer.” And guess what the sermon was in our church last Sunday? It was also about prayer.

Compared to the hours I spent over the internet against praying I know I fail him but I thank God for reminding me and for the conviction.

And thank you Lord for being good even if I am not most of the time.

Head on to Lynn’s site and read how God is working at her through her neighbor

Be blessed everyone.

And just before you go can you just say a prayer for someone please? It could be a friend you haven’t seen for a long time, it could be your parents or sisters or brothers or someone from your church, your pastor or even someone form the blogging world. God will surely bless that someone because behold someone prayed for the.

Dirty Feet

This is how my feet looks like everyday when we were in Sabah especially when we were in the village, it's no use of washing them while you are there because it will get dirty again with all the kids running around in the dirt the whole morning of sports and fun day. Taking care of these kids can beat the most effective diet pills available. I can guarantee you that. Run with them and play with them you'll definitely lose weight and you'll have loads of F-U-N!

I don't mind getting my feet dirty.

I'm sure the disciples had dirty feet too everyday.

Rise UP homecoming concert

I was supposed to attend Rise Up's homecoming worship concert tonight with hubby and we were supposed to go straight to the venue from my office but I do not feel well and all I want to do tonight is sleep and get rest. I do not know why I am dizzy the whole afternoon, it's probably because I've been reading and typing the whole day. Hubby was actually a bit disappointed when I told him I can't make it because we've been looking forward to this. But then he agreed that I should rest, how I wish I'll be resting in an air conditioned home with a home theater seating or a super comfy bed but that is just wishful thinking. The weather's been up to more than 35 degrees lately and it is so hot. I say my wishing for an air conditioned home is reasonable.

Anyways, I hope those who would come to the concert to have fun and have a very energized night with the band. i am sure it will be a blessed night. Pastor Roman (the lead singer) is more than just a singer but is also a very good speaker.

New song!!

The Lord gave my husband a new song when we were in Sabah and we've been singing it in the church for two Sundays now and I personally heard someone said that it is a good song. And I must say it is. Here is the lyrics of that song:

YOU REIGN
by: R.Abadiano
March 2010

When darkness covers me
And sorrow overwhelmed my soul
You are there

When problems surrounded me
And my body is all covered with pain
You are there

Pre Chorus

On the cross you showed your love
You have died for me
And on the grave you overcame
The death to set me free

Chorus

You reign forever Lord
You reign forever
Yeah..you reign
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
God's love is so assuring, isn't it? Having him in your life is like having a term life insurance and even more than that. Sickness, sorrows, pain name it..He will be there for you.
Thank God for giving my husband a new song!! and thank you that you are using that song to minister to people in our church and to those who'll have the chance to listen.
Thankful Thursday
It’s Thankful Thursday! And our host Lynn for this month wrote a very nice post on how God corrects our attitude. Our father loves us even if at times we have a not so good attitude and he loves us so much to correct us. And I know He does that to all of His children. Thank you Lord for your correcting love!!
Today I would also like to give thanks for the following;
I came back to work this week, part of me doesn’t want to but I have to. Thank God for jobs which help us in our monthly expenses.
My eldest nephew turned 13 last April 7, I wrote a different post for him here, I hope you take time to read it also. Thank God for the joy of being an Aunt.
That’s all for now..see you again next Thursday!!
LET US NOT GET TIRED OF GIVING THANKS AND GLORY TO OUR WONDERFUL LORD!!!
Walking, Exercise and Oprah's store
Last night, me and my husband decided to get back into walking again, we both need exercise and so far walking is the only thing that I can do. Before we left for Malaysia we used to have this morning walking in one of the public park here but things went wrong with me when I tried to add some aerobics in top of that daily walking. So we kept those exercise clothes until such time that my body permits me to do walking again. And I feel I am ready now. I mean except for occasional dizziness which I think was mainly because of the abnormal sleeping hour I feel I can do some exercise now.
Anyways, change topic. Did you know that Oprah is selling her once worn clothes in her store? So if you feel like you want to feel being her and you like her choice of women's clothing you can visit her store and see for your self, they have also loungewear which I have yet to see. Not that I will be able to buy one but you know, girls or women always want to window shop once in a while.
While we were in Malaysia also we often talk about Oprah’s church and I am not by any chance going to discuss it here, but smart readers can always do their own research about her and I guess everyone has the right to her own opinion.
Thank you for the Cross Lord!!!
Worthy is the Lamb
by: Hillsong
Thank you for the cross, Lord
Thank you for the price You paid
Bearing all my sin and shame
In love You came
And gave amazing grace
Thank you for this love, Lord
Thank you for the nail pierced hands
Washed me in Your cleansing flow
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace
Worthy is the Lamb
Seated on the throne
Crown You now with many crowns
You reign victorious
High and lifted up
Jesus Son of God
The Darling of Heaven crucified
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
resting,celeb news and work
My sleeping time has been abnormal for three days now and I have never been out of the house for two days. It was like I’ll sleep at 4:00 in the morning and wake up at around 2 in the afternoon and then all I do is sit on the computer or in the couch to watch a movie then back into the computer again. Even my meals have been reduced to once or twice per day. And I know it will still be like this until tomorrow.
Was it good? Was I bored?
I think it was good but I was bored. The husband said it was good for me to have at least a couple of days rest before I head back to work on Monday. So when I suggested going out and visiting the walkway station of the cross this afternoon at The Fort he declined.
So rest I did. And because I have so much time on my hands I was able to upload some photos on facebook and finish some online assignments ahead of time ( would that mean I am not really resting at all?) I also had time to read in celeb news about Jennifer Hudson being the new spokesperson of the Weight Watchers. The news said “The 28-year-old singer has lost an impressive amount of weight since the August birth of her son David Daniel Otunga Jr., and she's giving Weight Watchers all the credit.”
I was also able to read a lot about Polycystic and some articles about cancer of the uterus. And another good thing brought about this 4 days rest is that I catch up with a friend from way back and we had a good time chatting over the net.
I hope I am getting enough rest and that I am really preparing my self to return to work on Monday because as far as I am concern my mind is not. My mind (and my body) doesn’t want to go back to work but I have to.
I just hope I will not lose the “fire” I got on that recent trip when my life is back to normal mode.
The Jesus Festival 2010
Sharing some pictures from the non-stop praise and worship concert last night. It's my second time to attend such and as always you go home sleepless but blessed. The venue is an open park with green grass, good thing there are not so many rocks and stones or used golf balls scattered around and so we just laid out blankets on the grass for us to seat on. We brought also some food so it was like we are having a picnic in the park together with hundreds of worshipers. What an awesome night!our time slot was at 3:05 to 3:45 AM but was moved to 4:00 instead, at least we had time to pray and talked back stage, our musicians (and us back up singers) were nervous and that time gave us reason to ease away the nervousness.
that is right after the worship time..all Glory to the LORD!!
Thankful Thursday
I actually do not feel good today but that will not stop me from giving thanks and praises to our Lord.
I want to thank Him for His presence last night at the JESUS FESTIVAl (a non-stop praise and worship). Our slot time was originally 3:00 AM (this morning) but was moved to 4:00. We just did what we are supposed to do. WORSHIP HIM! and lead the people to WORSHIP HIM.
I thank Him also for providing for us, as you all know we just arrived from a mission trip and we have no money left but HE is so good. When you give time and money and your life to HIM..HE will take care of your every need.
I also want to thank the Lord for my family whom I misses so much ( maybe that's why I am feeling down today..my sisters family went back to province to spent the holy week with my mom and dad and I so wanted to go but we can not afford it this time). But still..thank you Lord that you are taking good care of my family. We are not born rich but we are raised with so much love and affection for each and every member of our family.
Thank you also for the internet, where I can do research and read and read and read..will read about motorhome towing later, and because I have internet, this will also mean I have something to do to chase away the boredom for the next four days when everything is back to normal.
Thank you Lord for everything..amd this holy week I joined everyone in honoring you and thanking you for giving YOUR LIFE to us.
Thank you for the CROSS Jesus.
