Pray and Worship first!

Normally if we're sick, our first thought would be "go to the doctor and have yourself checked"  that was actually what came to mind yesterday as I felt very sick, I was panicking inside because I could not stand up nor sit due to dizziness.  Thankful that I am reminded of what should come first.

PRAY and WORSHIP! Because when we worship and linger in the presence of God, healing and deliverance take place, As my husband is helping me I asked him to pray and he played a worship song (Paul Ang album) and joined him in praying in the spirit.

I was ready to go to Emergency Room but I waited a bit and prayed more.

Ending- I am back to work now, no trip to ER but will schedule a doctor’s visit soon just to check where that came from.

Whatever you are going through right now, I urge you to pray and worship, it might be an emotional sickness, financial problem or whatever it is-know that our GOD is the God of Impossible. HE CAN DO ALL THINGS and HE hears our prayers.

Praise HIM from whom all blessings flow!

WORSHIP SYMPOSIUM

This is happening on Sunday. My husband is speaking about "Worship as a ministry" . Please do say a prayer for him. I get anxious when he is invited to speak because  I'd rather see him lead the worship. But this is another opportunity to share and to minister so we said yes all for God's glory!!

The Fellowship International-Philippines

God has given us another opportunity to serve Him through worship leading at the launching of "The Fellowship International-Philippines" last October 24. It was indeed a blessing :) Nearly 500 Pastors and Leaders from all over the Philippines came to the launching. It was nice to be part of this network. Pastor Don Leavell who heads the Fellowship International  was here together with his wife Marva and some more members from America.

Dr. Paul Ang from Malaysia was also one of the speakers. It was a conference focus on Jesus. We as Christians (followers of Christ) should make Jesus the center of our lives, our  ministries and of our church.

Musician's wife

I am. And I am grateful that my husband keeps on making music for the Lord. Sometimes he gets tired and weary but who doesn't right? What matters most is that he knows his purpose and that he is using his skills and talents for that very purpose. WORSHIP of the ALMIGHTY GOD.

Here's his recent photos from a ministry in Laguna. It was 24 hour praise and worship and intercession and he was there standing, kneeling and leading worship for almost three hours straight.

With his new white guitar

Sometimes I wonder where he gets that kind of energy because you see we're not that young anymore plus the fact that he also has his day job that is equally stressfull but when it comes to his ministry, he gives his all.
And I am so blessed by how he serve our God and His people. He has indeed that servant heart and I am so grateful I married him :)

The only thing that, well, makes as argue sometimes is that he is always on the look out for new musical gadgets and instruments, he just bought 2 second hand guitars last month and just this morning he was saying again about his favorite music store that is on sale.

He regularly vsist this website http://www.musiciansfriend.com and many more online music store but we have an outstanding agreement. he cannot just buy without informing me and us making a good discussion about it.

This Saturday, they will again participate in Rocktoberpraise. Last night, they played in another church and recorded one song again for the album, he came home at 3 in the morning. On Oct 24, he is leading worship in a big gathering of Pastors and church leaders in Makati.

As the musician's wife, my role is to intercede for him not only when he is in the ministry but on day to day basis. Yes, I am a musician's wife and I love it.

JHOW's musicians

Our church is so blessed to have such musicians/singers who take time to kneel down in prayer, who seek the Lord and soak in His presence because really without the filling of the Holy Spirit, there is nothing to give, we cannot lead. We recognize that we are there not to perform but to lead the people in worship.

photos from Saturday soaking

Last Saturday, during our regular soaking, there was a word from the Lord for them, I cannot remember the exact words but I will not forget these : Kingdom instruments and Kingdom songs. They are are making music with their instruments for God's kingdom :)

We read from  the Old Testament how the Levites are consecrated to make music in the temple and how they are spared from duties and taxes but instead were paid for so they can focus, concentrate on their tasks. I hope and pray we can do something like that for our musicians too. Praying that someday soon, our church will be able to give them at least love  gift regularly, not that they are expecting though. These people I know from my heart are serving and will serve wholeheartedly even without that.

Still, It's my personal wish to bless them someday. I'm sure their heart will leap for joy if I tell them they can get one for themselves at this music store :)For the meantime, let us bless them with our prayers.

Praise YOU in this storm

I was sure by now
God You would have reached down
And wiped our tears away
Stepped in and saved the day
But once again, I say "Amen", and it's still raining

As the thunder rolls
I barely hear Your whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

And I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
And every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm

I remember when
I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to you
And you raised me up again
My strength is almost gone
How can I carry on
If I can't find You

But as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
And as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise the God who gives
And takes away

I lift my eyes unto the hills
Where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord
The Maker of Heaven and Earth

Unified: Worship event

Today, our worship team was privileged to  lead a worship event, a gathering of youth from different churches. The goal is to unite the youth, be one in glorifying the Lord.

Pastor Luis Baldomaro is the guest speaker, composer of timeless praise and worship songs such as "Kasama natin ang Diyos", "Panginoon kay buti mo" and many other christian songs that I grew up to.  He brought with him his music team, there is even a violinist, cool! maybe she is using a violin bridge from musicians friend. I was told later that it was her daughter :)

More than hundreds of young people were ministered to. It was such a very nice sight, seeing young people with hands lifted high, surrendering their lives to the Lord, for sure heaven is rejoicing.

I pray we can have more of this activity and I pray we can reach out to more of young people of our country because I know they will be use mightily by the Lord as end time harvester.

Thank you Lord!! All glory belongs to you!

Worshipping God in hard times

Right now, my mother is confined in the hospital, she was hit by a truck on her way home from a church activity. Doctors said she suffered most in the head, CT scan results showed that there is a blood in the brain. We are waiting for another CT scan to check if there will be changes and improvement. She is awake which is a very good sign BUT she is not aware of what is happening, is not conversant, she does not respond to us, to our questions and I think she does not recognize us for now. Confuse is the word of the Doctor.

In these hard times…

We chose to worship GOD.
We are choosing to PRAY.
We are choosing to stand on God’s promises.
Like Job, I will trust and worship my God because I know HE is sovereign.
Like David, I will sing song of praise even in the midst of troubles.

Psalm 46 :1 says

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

I will hold on to that.

And I know God will help my mother, she will recover quickly and that she will testify on how good our Lord is. I know sooner, things will get back to normal and that I'll be back searching for Behringer Keyboards for our church and ministry again :)

Please remember my Nanay in your prayers, pray for healing and restoration of normalcy in her brain.

Like David's heart

Rudolf leading in one of our worship service

This is my constant prayer for my husband ever since I met him. That he will have a heart like David- known to be a man after God's own heart. Devoted to HIS word and is delighted to meditate on it day and night.

That he will love the Lord more than anyone and anything else in this world. That he will be a true worshiper of one true God.

And that if ever he falls short or if he sin he will have immediate and profound conviction and do what David did in Psalm 51.

"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me"

I pray that he will forever use his God given talents to serve HIM and his people.  I know his love for music is founded with his love for God-the very reason why he sings and why he writes songs.

I'm just one proud wife. I wish I can gift him this great shure sm7b at musicians friend, for sure he'll appreciate it very very much.

But knowing him, with or without such music equipment, he will just keep singing to the Lord.

Organ lesson for me!

that's me! :)

I have started my basic organ/keyboard lesson last Saturday. Informal lesson it is but still I am delighted that I’ve already started.

So far, I learned the basic keys and the correct finger position. I hope to have another brief session next week :)

My teacher? none other than my husband. Free lessons for now. Will have to go to formal lesson when I have my own instrument na.

I so want to have my own organ already, we again scouted last Saturday but we just can't afford it right now, specially a brand new one, I am still opting for a second hand and cheap one, not even as expensive as those excellent m audio sbx10 at musician's friend, praying I'll have my wish granted before this year ends.

Anyways, hooray for me for starting and I hope I can carry on till I get to play on my own :)

Music Heals

This was a benefit concert for the victims of typhoon maring and it happened yesterday. I told my husband about it, had I not been sick, we could have come and watched.

Great news though that inspite of the not so good weather, the benefit concert went well and that they were able to gather huge amount of donations. Praise God.

I love the title of that benefit concert. Indeed music heals. It's always been my prayer since my husband's ministry is music, that healing flows through worship and that music will help people draw near and be closer to the Lord.

That is why I support my husband with this ministry. Sometimes I feel bored specially when he spend so much time looking at different music apps and gadgets or instruments, sometimes he tries to explain what the best trophy bodhran at guitar center is but I do support him fully. Because I know in my heart.. music heals.

Good sound system and worship

We recently went to a fund raising  concert where we helped in the production team to which I saw their good sound equipment/system. The day  after that concert, it was our church anniversary, while we are setting up our music equipment, I remember the good sound system from the concert and how I wish that our music equipment is as good as that so we can have good sounds too, we can play better because we can hear each other's sounds.

While we  are doing sound check, reality hits me, that all we can hear are feedbacks from microphones and noise because we don't have good sound system like mackie thump speaker. I know it's expensive and our church cannot afford that yet.

As  a worship leader, I always feel the need of having the right and good sound system in the church. One noise and we can all be distracted, while if we can produce good sounds, it might help us   and the congregation focus more.

But  of course, what matter the most, still is our hearts. After all, the Lord listens not to the quality of sounds we produced while we are worshiping but He listens to our hearts. With or without accompaniment, we can still by all means worship God...but then a good sound equipment isn't bad to desire also like what I am desiring for our church to have someday soon.

Blessed musicians

Those pictures were from our recent worship night in Laguna, days after that, there are people who commented in the band's page in Facebook saying they are so blessed with the Selah band, we are humbled. They didn't know that we are also blessed by them. Seeing them coming to the Lord in worship is more than a blessing for us already.

My husband's group are all blessed musicians, all of them with no formal music lesson, and most of them only finished secondary education, one didn't even finish grade school. But despite that they are being use mightily by God to minister to people specially the youth.

God sees their hearts, their desires and their faith.

We don't even extra money for thir musical instruments but God provided everything, they may not have the most expensive instrument but they have they carry with them the best instrument ever- a worshiping heart.

We are still praying for more instrument though such as guitar stands mf, a projector, and gig bags but we know that even without these, we can still be effective in the ministry.

And we are excited for our next ministry soon. Davao and Palawan.

New worship place

Finally, our Pastor was able to talk to the Barangay Captain and got her approval for the use of the function room of the Barangay Hall for our Sunday Worship. Praise God!!

It is still not permanent and we will still be paying a thousand peso per use but it is much comfortable compared to where we are doing our Sunday worship now.

And oh, the first time we will use it is on September 30 and my husband will be the preacher on that Sunday. His first time ever to preach in a Sunday worship. To say that I am nervous is an understatement. I don't know how I am going to sit still and listen to him on that day.

So please please, pray for my husband, for wisdom, for anointing and for him to listen to God's voice and say whatever is it that God want's the people to hear.

But overall, I am excited for the new worship place and for all the new things to come!!
