Thankful Thursday

Lynn is hosting the Thankful Thursday for this month. Head on to her site if you want to share or read more TT entries.

Maybe you have heard of the recent flooding due to storm here in Manila,Phil. We were devastated, the whole Philippines is grieving, a lot lost their homes, some are even worst because they lost their loved ones.

Our house was not spared, inside our house the water was above knee level, outside it's higher than the waist level. But you know what, I still am thankful for a lot of things, I still feel blessed and I am grateful.

Here's why..

1. I am thankful it happened on midday -we are about to have lunch. Had it happen on evening where everybody is sleeping it could have been worst.

2. Grateful that it happeed on weekend. Saturday. I have no office and we are at home. I was thinking if it happened on weekdays and nobody is at home then we could have not saved any single stuff.

3. Our motorbike which was our very means of transportation was submerged. Hubby said we should bring it to repair center and I know it means money, but then when he cleaned it and tried to start it. It is still working!! Thankful for God's protection even to our motorbike.

I am also thankful that in tough times like this, filipinos are united, joining hands in helping the victims. People all over the world especially Filipinos scattered all over the world are helping.

We will move on, we will rise up after this tragedy and we will praise the Lord for He is Good!!

Here are some of the pictures I took during the flood;

and for more photos i took, visit the link below

Please keep on praying for the Philippines and for the flood victims.

Praising Kids town year 2

Fishnets ministry has an upcoming event this October 31. It’s “Praising kid’s town” again and we are all doing our best to make this even successful. We are expecting to serve at least 150 kids from the urban poor areas. We are raising funds for this event and as of now we still need a lot so I encourage you my dear readers to please pray with me for this event.

Our prayer items are the following;

1. Committed volunteers
2. Funds /Materials
3. Transportation means for the kids
4. For a nice weather on that day

Praising kid’s town is a mini-carnival for the kids, we aim to give smile and leisure for these kids that cannot afford to go carnival to enjoy, we also aim thru this activity to veer them away from addiction, gambling, vices like cigars and solvent. We hope these kids will grow as responsible citizens of this world.

And of course, along with this please also pray for the flood victims. We are also collecting blankets and towels and clothes for the victims. I have already a handful and we will give this to relief center maybe tomorrow.

God is still Good!!

We maybe in the state of calamity right now, but we will rise! God is still in control and though my heart aches for those who lost their homes and some their loved ones. I will still praise the Lord and say that HE is GOOD! and that he will be able to provide/replace whatever was lost. Homes, business, furniture, cars, annuities and everything.

He did it with in the old testament with JOB, there's no reason He can't do it with us.

Our home was not spared. Here's pictures from our very house during the flood. But then that will not stop us from praising HIM. And that can not stop us also from doing what is supposed to do at this time of need.

In times like this, it is very comforting to know that our life is insured in God's mighty hands. Trust that He will provide for our every need.

6. Knowledge and abilities to do what I am asked to do by my boss (sometimes I feel like "I can't do it" but thank God I am still able to deliver)

paradox of our time

Got this again in my email and I can't help but agree and say that this is so sad and yet so true.

*********************************************************************************
A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

George Carlin

Cybber Monday

It is for me tomorrow, because as the rest of the working guys are resting due to a holiday I on the other hand will be at the office. So it's a working Cyber Monday for me.

How I wish I could just stay home and browse the Internet from here but I can't. Hubby will also be having a working Monday because they will have a band rehearsal for the coming band competition on the first week of October. Hubby will become more busy than me this coming days, he has so many band commitments. I just pray he would be able to cope up. In the other hand, he is loving it, beside it his passion and calling so he's so much into it.

well just wish him and the rest of the band all the best!!

Sunday Worship Service

My facebook status says : feels bad for not attending the worship service this morning

yes, I do feel bad about it, I wish I hadn't stayed up so late for the past few nights..
and in times like this I hope we have an evening service so I can still attend even I wake up late.

How late did I wake up? well, it's already 2 in the afternoon when I gaze at the wall clock.

Although hubby said he will accompany me to other church who has evening services if I want to. Maybe I would after doing mu usual rounds in the internet world. I still have to finish this diet pills review just in case I needed to answer some questions about it.

How about you all? I hope you were able to attend worship service this Sunday and not be like me feeling bad about it.

Love Books

Yes I do love books, I just mentioned in one of my recent posts that I am currently enjoying “god’s Smuggler” by Brother Andrew. This cost at least $10.07 when you buy it in Amazon books online shop. I want another one that was also recommended by a good frien. “Safely Home” is also about a persecuted church and I am sure that would be nice too.

If I have lots of extra money I’ll be spending lot for books. I hope I can pass on this love for reading to my kids (if ever we will have one) someday.

I remember I am still also reading a novel of Nicholas Sparks and yes I finally will have time to finish it this weekend.

Web Directories

Has anyone here tried submitting their blog or website in some kind of web directories How was it? What are the benefits? Did your daily clicks increased? Did your page views went up? What are those web directories?

You see, I am trying to make my PR and Alexa rank higher with this blog and I am just curious if that would be of help.

I find it hard though because there’s not much for a blog like this. I don’t want to categorized this blog in religion because this is not about it. It’s about what me and my husband are doing, our ministry.

Well, I guess I just have to keep writing and working hard.

Thankful Thursday

This week I am so thankful the Lord has given me enough rest, last Friday we went to Cebu (South part of the Philippines) and celebrated hubby's birthday there, it was his first time there so he's pretty much excited. We stayed there for 3 days and though the hotel we stayed in was not as grand as those of Myrtle beach hotel, we are still thankful we have been given time and money for this vacation. Here are some of our pictures;

At the Taoist temple

In front of Magellan's shrine

we also enjoyed the food especially the lechon (roasted pork) and the "puso" rice cooked in a different way.that's the rice
I'll upload more pictures soon :)

God's Smuggler

I am currently enjoying this book. I think every missionary should read this one. It's speaking right through my heart. I am actually ashamed on how I am taking for granted the freedom of having the bible, the freedom of worshiping the Lord out loud without worrying of being caught.

Brother Andrew's story of how passionate he was in bringing bibles to churches who needs them most, churches in the closed countries sparked something in me. And God is clearly with him on his journeys, making the seeing eyes blind for his boxes of bibles and providing for his every need. One particular need God met right on time was a cake they needed for tea time. God is so amazing! He provides our every need, whatever you ask if you need it he will give it to you, even cattle supplies and a bed in my case.

Hubby is not into reading but I am encouraging him to read this book. We will need this when it's our time to go in our own mission field.

Running for a cause

I was astounded when I actually read that over 93% of fat burners don’t work. I wonder if the one I used to take years ago was one of those 93%. No question why doctors don’t really prescribe them especially Obstetricians. Of course, the best way to lose weight and burn belly fat would still be exercise and proper diet.

I have taken so many diet pills before and the end result is always me gaining moré weight. It’s like you will lose some and then when you stopped taking the pills you will gain even more. I don’t know I might have chosen the wrong ones so please my dear readers if you want to take some fat burners or diet pills make sure it’s real, natural and that it works.

Anyhow, I have good news though, my friend and I are running for a cause next week. We are joining an event that will raise some funds for cancer patient and will also raise some awareness for cancer. And I am hoping that would be the start of me getting into regular running or walking again.

Cebu Buildings

We're back from Cebu, renewed and rested. I'll be posting some our pictures soon but let me give you a glimpse of what Cebu looks like. The Cebu sans the tourist spots.

Here are random pictures of Cebu buildings, some of it were taken as we are cruising inside a cab, and most of the pictures were taken by my dearest husband. There is a beautiful one which looks like some kind of steel buildings at the reclamation area which unfortunately we forgot to take picture. It is I believe the Cebu International Convention Center, for Cebuanos reading my blog please correct me if I’m wrong.

Thankful Thursday

Undeserved Kindness
Unmerited Favor

Father, I know I don’t deserve such kindness but you have shown me more than enough, you loved me and you continue to shower me with your love even when I am not worthy. Thank you Lord for your unconditional love. Everyday, I feel your warmth embrace through the people around me, my friends, family and especially from my husband. I can’t thank you enough Lord for your faithfulness, for providing for our every need, for just being there all the time.

I love you.

YOu are so BLESSED!

If you woke up this morning
with more health than illness,
you are more blessed than the
million who won't survive the week.

If you have never experienced
the danger of battle,
the loneliness of imprisonment,
the agony of torture or
the pangs of starvation,
you are ahead of 20 million people
around the world.

If you attend a church meeting
without fear of harassment,
arrest, torture, or death,
you are more blessed than almost
three billion people in the world.

If you have food in your refrigerator,
clothes on your back, a roof over
your head and a place to sleep,
you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank,
in your wallet, and spare change
in a dish someplace, you are among
the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still married and alive,
you are very rare,
especially in the United States.

If you hold up your head with a smile
on your face and are truly thankful,
you are blessed because the majority can,
but most do not.

If you can hold someone's hand, hug them
or even touch them on the shoulder,
you are blessed because you can
offer God's healing touch.

If you can read this message,
you are more blessed than over
two billion people in the world
that cannot read anything at all.

You are so blessed in ways
you may never even know.

Thoughts On blogging

I’ve been blogging since 2005. I started with our wedding blog, there I wrote all my thoughts about the wedding preparations and recorded every happening about the wedding.

And then I made a personal blog- It is here where I started to write more on personal stuff about me. Here is where I share my deepest feeling as an individual and I know one or two of my posts have hurt few people and that made me draw back for a while and just blog for nothing in a while, I hope I’ll be able to write what I want to write there again soon.

And for my last one- This ministry blog where I update the world (not that the world care) about me and my husband’s ministry.

Through all those blogging years, I have learned a lot about ranking, links, seo tools, web hosting and such. I know I still have to learn a lot about maintaining a site, getting more visitors and getting a higher google ranking. But I don’t mind learning it slowly.

Blogging opened a new world to me. It also opened a lot of earning opportunities and for that I will be forever grateful. I have met new friends and they open up their world to me.

I hope to continue to blog as long as the blog world continues to open its door to me.

CLEANSING DAY - BULACAN

More than 100 kids were served, treated from hair lice, got new hair cut, had their dental check-up, vital signs checked, given a health kit gift and most of all PRAYED FOR.

We would like to thank everyone who helped and prayed with us. God bless you a thousand fold in return!
The Team ( after a long day work-still smiling!)

Thankful Thursday

Laurie of Women taking a Stand is host for this month. Head on to her site to visit more thankful hearts.

She's thankful she can slow down and spend time in God's presence. God slowed me down yesterday by making me sick and spend the whole day in bed. I know I've been working too hard, office job and ministries and family obligations has taken it's toll on me and my body is weak. So should I be thankful I was sick yesterday? yes, I am thankful for that one whole day of rest.

And I think I should have stayed home and rested again today, you see I am still not feeling well but I insisted on coming on to work. I hope to feel better soon.

But anyways, this week I am also thankful for the following;

1. Reunion with great friends last week. Some pictures here.
2. Beauty products I used are still on sale until September 15- good buys for best wrinkle cream.
3. Mom and Dad visiting our new home last weekend.
4. Sue and Rachel Winters from UK visited and helped in our ministry for one month. sad to see them go last Sunday but we know they will stay in our hearts forever.
5. Husband's comforting hands. I thank HIM most for giving me the best one for me. I heard a lot of broken marriage lately, husbands cheating their wives and I am just thankful that the Lord has given me "His best choice".

Have a nice day everyone!!
