Skill That Can Slay a Giant

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men.”
(Proverbs 18:16, NASB)
TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
When people hear the story of David and Goliath, sometimes they think, “That was all God.” And yes, in a sense, I know it was God. But the truth is that God didn’t sling the stone. God didn’t cause it to hit at just the right spot. It was the skill God gave David that he had developed.
Like David, God has put in you skill that can slay a giant. You have skill that can open new doors, skills that can lead to an abundant life, but the key is that your skill has to be developed. Every day that you spend growing, learning and improving, you’re getting prepared for that new level.
Today, while you’re waiting for that new opportunity, start sharpening your skills. Study your boss. Study your manager. Learn that position. Be able to step into their shoes. When God sees that you are prepared, then He can open new doors. The scripture says, “Your gifts will make room for you.” Keep developing your skills because there is a giant slayer in you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for depositing in me everything that I need for life and godliness. I choose to be faithful with what You have given me. I choose to sharpen my skills. Help me prepare for every opportunity You have for my future in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Organ lesson for me!

that's me! :)

I have started my basic organ/keyboard lesson last Saturday. Informal lesson it is but still I am delighted that I’ve already started.

So far, I learned the basic keys and the correct finger position. I hope to have another brief session next week :)

My teacher? none other than my husband. Free lessons for now. Will have to go to formal lesson when I have my own instrument na.

I so want to have my own organ already, we again scouted last Saturday but we just can't afford it right now, specially a brand new one, I am still opting for a second hand and cheap one, not even as expensive as those excellent m audio sbx10 at musician's friend, praying I'll have my wish granted before this year ends.

Anyways, hooray for me for starting and I hope I can carry on till I get to play on my own :)

Family.Music

If only I could, I would buy each of my nephews and nieces a musical instrument and make them fall in love with music :)

My two eldest nephews are into guitar and doing well with the music ministry in their church too..

The eldest niece wants also a guitar maybe because she's been exposed to it -with my husband and her two cousins.

The other nephew wants also an organ (like me!)

The younger ones, I wish I could give them recorders at WWBW. I heard it is a nice way to introduce children to musicality.

How nice it would be if we all get to play together no? That would be lovely and for sure their Lolo will be proud.

Matthew 6:33

This verse says it all, if you need anything..seek the LORD first. I know sometimes we tend to go somewhere else hoping to find solution to our problem, go to employer for financial needs, go to lending companies, go to a friend for comfort, etc...

But it is very clear that if we SEEK GOD FIRST, He will supply all our needs.
I hope we all learn to do just that no?

I for myself sometime worry first before going to the Lord..sigh.

Mouth organ

Did you know that harmonica is also called as mouth organ? Oh well, I didn't know that.Shows how I am so not really into music no? so opposite of  my husband.

And yes, my husband who loves music that much has one harmonica too. It was given to him by my niece whom I think got it from great harmonica store at musician's friend.

Although he admits he is still learning but when I hear him play I am just amazed how he can make such beautiful melodies from that one small instrument.

But I promised my self, this year I will learn how to play the organ or keyboard. I'm determined and hopefully next year I'll be playing along with my husband na. Who knows?

Music Heals

This was a benefit concert for the victims of typhoon maring and it happened yesterday. I told my husband about it, had I not been sick, we could have come and watched.

Great news though that inspite of the not so good weather, the benefit concert went well and that they were able to gather huge amount of donations. Praise God.

I love the title of that benefit concert. Indeed music heals. It's always been my prayer since my husband's ministry is music, that healing flows through worship and that music will help people draw near and be closer to the Lord.

That is why I support my husband with this ministry. Sometimes I feel bored specially when he spend so much time looking at different music apps and gadgets or instruments, sometimes he tries to explain what the best trophy bodhran at guitar center is but I do support him fully. Because I know in my heart.. music heals.

You are more than enough for me Lord :)

You are more than enough for me Lord :)

"Hold things lightly because those are not important. In life, it is not what you have or what you've accumulated in life that is valuable, but it's WHO you have in life. And by God's grace it is JESUS CHRIST that we have that make life valuable." - Deonna Tanchi
