Cool weather

It's been raining since the last weekend here. Today, some classes were suspended again due to heavy rains. Though there is no storm signal, heavy rains can cause flooding in the Metro, thus the suspension of classes.

if  there is one thing I love about this weather, it's the cool breeze of the wind :)  you know how humid it is here in Manila even if it is rainy season. so I welcome  the cool weather sans the rain with open arms. But don't get me wrong though, when I say cool it doesn't mean you need a fireplace and electric fireplace insert at your home because it is not that col. :D 

And so while others are enjoying the sun in their part of the world, I am currently loving the cool weather here.

Blessing : pair of watch

A month ago, my sister's husband came home from abroad and he gave us this pair of watch which I loved so much! Our first pair of watch was also a wedding gift from my eldest sister but it gave up on us years ago and we haven't had a watch since then :) We aren't keen on buying one for ourselves since it's not a priority but we're so glad that our God is God of every little details in our life and gave us this :)

It's not a citizen signature watch but a branded one as well. Thank you Lord!

Consider it pure joy

I'm currently studying about spiritual maturity and I really am learning a lot. It's ironic that I am going to teach about spiritual maturity while in fact I can not consider myself already a "mature Christian". Why? because I fail so many times specially in this;

A spiritual mature person is POSITIVE under PRESSURE.

James 1:2 said "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds"

meaning, when we are facing problems, when our situations are not good, when we are in hardships, we have to be still joyful and positive - A clear sign of spiritual maturity
and sometimes most of the time I FAIL in this.


When I have problems (bigger ones) I often forgot that God is bigger than them. I worry and we all know that worry takes away the JOY in our hearts and when you do not have joy you find it hard to be positive.

but thank you Lord, that spiritual maturity is an on going process. I am an on going process. I thank God that He keeps on teaching me these things.

Right now, we are facing trials and testings, my parents health and our finances and I am praying I'll stay positive and will be joyful as I traverse and pass through these trials. And I hope I'll pass with flying colors.

Facing a battle?

We need to put on the FULL ARMOR of GOD...

Ephesians 6: 10-18 (NIV) (emphasis supplied)

"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. ¹² For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers  of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ¹⁴ Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, ¹⁵ and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.¹⁷ Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

 

¹⁸ And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying  for all the Lord’s people.

Thank you Lord that you equipped us with an armor that we can use in times of battle and that because of it, we are assured of our victory.

Update on Selah's worship album

We're done with the fourth song and tonight they'll start with  the fifth. Yay!
I know it's been months but recording takes time specially when time and schedule of everyone involved is a problem. But hey, we're on our fifth song so that means we're almost half :)

Hopefully, we'll finish before October and the CD's will be ready in time for the Global Prayer Conference in Thailand on October 23-25, 2012.

So far, the original songs that we've finished (raw mix though) are:
1. Sasayaw at Sisigaw
2. Wala Kang Katulad
3. I surrender
4. You reign

They're now more comfortable and they've already learned the ropes of recording thus it is a bit faster now than before. Ramon is now familiar with metronome, our bassist must have been watching bass guitar lesson dvd so he's much adept now and everyone really is learning a lot about their craft.

New Church

It's been a month now since that very sad day when we.....I actually do not know how to word it but...I guess it's safe to say when we went out from our former church ( this may sound easy but I tell you it's NOT. up to this time, I lay still at night and think about what had happened and sometimes most of the time I can still feel the sadness within.

But on a lighter note, we have started to move on and so far we've been holding worship service in a small Barangay hall every Sunday morning, with one acoustic guitar and two microphones :) but that doesn't matter at all, the important thing is we were able to worship corporately as brothers and sisters once a week :)
