Missing them

I will never forget those many little feet...

Sorry but I guess most of the post you will see on this blog is about our recent mission trip to Sabah, Malaysia. I told you I have loads of pictures but I am choosing the ones I could upload for everyone to see and enjoy.

The work out there is big, so many souls who haven't heard about God's amazing love for them. We need workers everywhere and I hope I can be one (full time) someday soon.

Friday is Sports and Feeding day-after playing games, they all lined up for a bowl of food prepared by Teacher Naty.

They were excited to have uniforms, I guess it makes them feel like they are really into school. I do hope this kids continue to go to that non formal school and learn the basics, you know read and write. It's amazing when you hear them count from 1 to 100 in English and the are happy to learn. They don't need to learn to do or analyze some insurance quotes, for them learning to converse in simple English is more than enough. Learning to write their names on their paper are more than enough.

They are simple kids, they don't ask much. In fact, they enjoy their life, they are enjoying their childhood. Swimming in the nearby river, playing in the woods.

I'm missing them.

17 days

yes, it's been 17 days since we got here. How time flies indeed. A couple friend joined us here last Tuesday so we are now four in the team.

Right now we are on rest (3 days), we like to call it holiday althought it was not. We can not go to the village for security reasons but we are praying and hoping that the school will resume on Monday. We still have to do the mini olympic and the shuffle dance contest for the kids. The kids were all excited about this when we told them about it. There would be prices and carmel is planning to cook for them a special food next week. If you see the energy of these kids, they can be your source of natural testosterone, they boost your energy too somehow.

So far, I've already explored the town, this is just a small town where everyone seems to know everyone, we've gone to all the supermarkets and finally we've tried the famous "nasi goreng" tonight. A local worker treated us for dinner. Praise God for his life!!

I've learn a lot for the 17 days and I know I've still lot of things to learn in our remaining days. I'm still writing them on my journal and hopefully will be able to post them once I get back.

Be safe evryone!

An update

that's me- checking the work of a student, I assist the teacher in teaching them how to write

that's my dear husband-writing the lesson in a makeshift green board (which is a ping pong table)

Sorry if these are the only pictures I can show you for now because I am not sure if I can post pitcures of kids where we minister but I have so many pictures of their happy faces. They are all beuatiful!!

Anyways, to give you an update of what we do here..

Here's our evryday schedule from Monday to Thursday:

We wake up before 7 am, be in the village at 9 am then classes start immediately till 12 noon. I get so frustrated because I cannot communicate properly but am so proud I am learning the language well. I can now speak one or two sentences and the kids get what I mean.
Friday is "sports and feeding day".
On Sunday my husband will lead the worship service on a local church, I hope it won't be too much to ask for your continued prayers for us.
And so sorry for not updating too often.
Praising God for the opportunity of serving HIM!!!

Adjustments

Praise God I am on the internet again and updating. My heart is bursting with so many thoughts to tell but they are scattered right now. i need to gather them so I can give a decent and nice post for everyone to read.

For now, I just want to talk about adjustments. Since this is my first experience to be out on the mission field, I expected a lot of adjustments and I was right. Life is totally different here. You really will leave your comfort zone.

* WEATHER - is even warmer than the Philippine weather, meaning it's really hot here.

*FOOD - haven't tasted pork since I came here and that's one big adjustment, will go try to look somewhere later.

* TOILETS - theirs is not the American Standard toilets. it's different.

* LANGUAGE - I would like to say I've taken interest in the language and I'm learning, i know few words already and I'm hoping I'll be able to converse in simple sentence in a week from now.

There is a lot of adjustment but I am NOT COMPLAINING. I expected it and I welcome it with open arms. I am learning a lot through these adjustments and I know I will benefit from it.

Will post more soon.

First post in Malaysia

Hi everyone! I know it's been long since my last post.

I just want to make a quick update on our Malaysia trip. We are now here (Malaysia) we arrived last Wednesday afternoon around 6;30 pm and a good brother in Christ icked us up at the airport, treat us to dinner and gave us a place to stay overnight before we head to our home base which is 2 and a half hour away from KK. We only spent one night in the city so there's no time to go to malls and stores and see what's in store or even see some tv deals. But it is ok because that is not the reason why we are here. I am very much aware of that. We are here to do something for the Lord.

Today we started to help at the kids ministry, we have feeding and sports day today. It was fun seeing everone participating at the games. I'm sorry but I don't think I can mention the location for safety reasons. That is where we would help for the duration of our stay here. It's our first day in the village and I have loads of stories already. I hope I can tell and post it all here but then internet is limited so I guess I'll just write them down to my journal and post it when I get back to Manila. We also met one Pastor here and he brought us to a bible study in another village. I tell you I didn't understand any single word but I am surprisingly blessed. God is amazing!!

We are safe in God's hands. My prayer for this mission trip is for the Lord to open my heart and eyes on thing He wants me to see and that my life will never be the same again after this trip.

Please keep on praying for us. We need that.

Day 5 and mission update

Today is the 5th day of our prayer and fasting. So far so good, been hungry most of the time and the worst is the craving for coffee but I'm good, this was my first time of fasting for that long but I don't regret it.

I've been praying hard for the mission trip to Malaysia, I have my ticket already and we're set to leave on Wednesday March 03. There has been lots of struggles and challenges and sometimes I get to think like when I'm in the middle of it.."should I still go Lord? or should I just get back to my work, to my comfort zone and live as normal as it can be"

I doubted, I cried, I worried ( a lot) but you know what at the end of the day, it's God words and promise that prevails. He wants us to go we're sure of that and when He send us I'm sure He'll send provision (and peace as well).

Right now, dear husband has no ticket yet, and I do not know when he's gonna get his ticket. The one who promised them the tickets back outs on the last minute and it's very frustrating, well If I can only use virtual credit cards I'll buy him this very minute. But you know what? he's not worried, he knew in his heart that he'll have his ticket before we leave on Wednesday.

Another thing (that caused me more headaches and heartaches) is that the band that is supposed to go on this trip is not going now. God only knows the reason and no one is to blame I know. After spending monies on prepaid cards and lots of overseas phone calls, our effort is still futile so the band decided not to go anymore for lack of funds (tickets are not cheap). So we have to let go and let God.

Actually that led me to ask God if He really wants us to go, been asking Him every night but been getting the same answer. If not now, when? So amidst the challenges, I'd still say yes Lord, we will go.

The only thing that worries me now really is my husband's ticket, In my thoughts we should book it now because it will even get pricey when the date is near so my logic tells me that we should get him a ticket now, but who will pay for it? where will we get the money for it? But God's thoughts are higher than our thoughts right? I cannot dictate God because HE exactly knows what HE is doing and I've got to trust that He will give us my husband's ticket sooner. I don't know ig He'll use someone or somebody I know or use someones virtual credit cards. I just got to trust Him that He will do it.

And hopefully I will be able to sleep soundly tonight like my husband does. I can hear him so deep in his sleep. I wish I can have a faith like him.

Malaysia mission Trip -Update

* I already filed my leave of absence from the office, It will officially start on Monday, February 22. with that I will still have the time to do other things at home and other preparation.

* As you all know, this is gonna be my first mission trip so I'm a bit scared and anxious. Still thinking of what to bring, what will we bee needing that we can't buy there. Do I need to buy medicines, toiletries because I'm sure it will be more expensive to buy there. The current exchange rate of 1RM (Malaysian money) to Php (Philippine Peso) is 13.60. I want to use the money wisely specially if it's money from friends who supported us ( will not buy diet pills either) lol.

* Hubby is currently taking the ACCESS training from International Teams, it started last Monday and will end on Friday. I was supposed to take that training too in preparation of us being missionaries but i still have work this week.

* There is mis communication between the team here and the person in-charge in Kota Kinabalu for the tickets so please pray that everything will be alright. That everyone will be provided tickets.

* We still don't have much funds but as I have said a while ago to a friend, we will not be discouraged by not having enough funds. God is not moved by our needs but He is moved by our faith. He will supply our needs wherever we maybe.

PLEASE KEEP ON PRAYING FOR US.

And if you feel like you wanted to become part of this mission trip and you want to support us, please feel free to email me or send me message. Thanbk you and God bless everyone!

Update : Malaysia mission trip

I actually have nothing to update but still I want you to know (my readers) what's going on with this planned trip.

Our missionary pastor who resides there now in Kiningau, Sabah, Malaysia went back there last Monday. They were for Christmas and new year. They're already informed that we will be going there this February, we will be staying in their house for a week.

Rudolf my husband and the band (2 members from Musician On Fire) and a girl named Sharon whom I have yet to meet are now rehearsing every Monday and Thursday for the songs they will be playing/singing in churches in Malaysia.

As of to date, we are set to leave on the 25th, but no one has ticket yet. I still have to e-mail the one in charge in Malaysia for coordination and for schedules.

Our missionary couple friend and housemate Carmel & Andrew are going also but they'll follow on our last two weeks there.

I still want to go to Singapore from Kota Kinabalu probably on our last week but we'll see what God wants for us.

Please keep on praying for us, pray that the Lord's will be done and that HE prepares us for this trip and that HE may use us mightily in this field.

Pray also for His provision for this mission trip.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

all things work together for good

Praise God!! whatever life gives you, whether good or bad situation we have to give back praises to HIM for He said in Romans 8:28 that "All things work together for good to those who love Him"

Just a while ago, i was nervous to the max because I was about to talk to my boss and tell him I'm quitting my work because of our upcoming mission trip to Malaysia. I prayed and then I waited for the timing and then finally had the guts to talk to him.

I still do not know how would I feel about the outcome, he didn't accept my resignation but has allowed me to go with my husband for the mission trip meaning I will be away from the office for more than one month.

Now, I know I still have thoughts on resigning from work, Rudolf knows that I still worry about our expenses especially the payment for rent, bills, groceries and other home related expenses and yes I do worry a lot sometimes even on small things such as sinks repair or replacement but I realized that losing my job means I would learn to really trust God the way I never did before.

Now that I was alllowed to go with my husband on this mission trip and be able to get back to work after, I feel blessed really, seldom are given such an opportunity and I hope and pray that with this opportunity I will be able to give God the glory He deserves.

Update: Hubby's mission trip in Malaysia

He left Monday so it's been four days now. I was actually worried when he left because we have heard a lot of missionary being sent back by Malaysian immigration for reasons we do not know but Praise God he is there now and is helping our Pastor in their work there.

We talked over the phone yesterday and he's alright. He knows it is what God wants for him to do, He said they are visiting churches and teaching music mostly musical instruments and reaching out for the non believers there. They have loads of schedule and I'm sure he's overwhelmed but they are fine. He thought of it as order fulfillment or order being fulfilled at some sort.

When he gets back, we will surely talk if we will go there and stay for long term. After all, we've been praying for His direction for us since January of this year and we know eventually that we are going out of our country to be missionaries.

Please continue to pray for him, for God's protection to them and for the provision of their every need.
