More than flowers

I know I do not have the most romantic husband ever in the whole wide world, you know the one that always gives you flowers and chocolates on valentines day (or any occasion day ) but I do not complain because I am very assured that I am greatly love by him even without those flowers and stuff. Though sometimes, I secretly wish I also have flowers to post on my instagram on Valentine's day, it's normal for every woman I guess.

But as you age, you realized there are more better ways to show you love and you appreciate your spouse, yes, far better than giving flowers and chocolates.

~Like how my husband is doing the laundry for me today at home while he should be resting because he's taken a leave from work.

~Like how he makes effort to bring and pick me up from my office everyday since we got married (except when he is out of town for mission trips or for office task now that he is working)

~Like, how he strives so hard to provide for our needs, doing what he promised when we exchange vows on our wedding day.

~Like how he stay so faithful and true to me in all sense, true to his feelings, honest with his weaknesses and shortcomings and doing his best to grown and improve.

~Like how he loves  the Lord more than anything else in this world, that alone makes me fall in love with him over and over again. I know it's peculiar but it's true, when I see him on his knees worshiping the Lord with all his being, when I see him singing songs for his creator~ it makes me love him more and deeper. And it reminds me that it was the very reason why I married him.

So yes, I may not always have flowers on valentines day but true love is more than flowers and chocolates, I hope our young girls will be more wiser when it comes to choosing  their lifetime partner and not base it on who gives the most beautiful and expensive gift on special occasion. I hope they will be wiser not to depend solely on feelings and emotions because it's not stable and marriage needs a stronger foundation.

This post does not mean though that I haven't receive any flowers from my husband ever since because to be fair, there were several occasions where he gave me flowers too (picture above)  and some material/practical gifts also. And I know if he could he will give me everything I need probably even those simple wants like a piece from Reeds mikimoto selection or maybe even luxuries things if he could but even if he can't I still LOVE him that much.

7 years 7 months

MARRIED to the man God has specifically chosen for me :)

It was not an all smooth easy marriage, like everyone else, we have some serious fights also, arguments from time to time but I think that makes our marriage even more stronger.

But I know also that I am super blessed with Rudolf. His love is very assuring and I have never felt so loved before. There are times I think I am not reciprocating the same love he is giving me eh because his love is so selfless, so forgiving, so humble, so kind. I don't think I am like that.

I am trying my best though to be a very good, supportive and loving wife to him, cheering him on when he is in despair, assuring him when he is in doubt, but still I cannot compare that to the many things he is doing for me.

And I thank the Lord so much for blessing me, for giving me that kind of gift.  I hope we will have more 7 years and 7 months to celebrate.

Now only if I can give him this portable DJ mixer, this traktor z1 at musicians friend, I'm sure that would compensate for my being selfish a lot of times :) You know how anything with his music and recording makes him happy. And I fervently pray that they will finish the album soon because that would really make him happy.

7 years 7 months. Thank you Lord.

Rings

I know it is still out of our budget but I am dreaming, hoping and praying for a very nice ring. These cobalt rings are so pretty and it is also not that pricey. Three more years and it will be our 10th wedding anniversary. I am hoping we can have a renewal of vows and celebrate with family and friends and hopefully by then we will have new set of rings :) But am keeping our old one for it has sentimental value. It maybe cheap but it is still precious for us.

Love,Courtship,Marriage & Engagement rings too!

Two Sundays ago, I, together with my two lady friends was invited by the youth leaders to attend their one of a kind LCM (Love, Courtship and Marriage) teaching/seminar. We were asked to just tell our own love stories and then answer questions from them afterwards. Of course, each story is worth telling and from each story a lesson is to be learned. The topic actually is “waiting” and for some youth it can be the hardest part but if you wait for God’s best you’ll surely say it’s worth it.

Anyways, at the end of the session I told them how everything will be beautiful if they will just learnt o wait for the right time, God is definitely writing each and everyone’s love story and it is undoubtedly beautiful! I also mentioned that even their wedding will be nice and perfect if they will learn how to wait for God’s best. Sure there will be glitches but still people will only notice how beautiful they are and how eminent is the love they have for each other.

They may not even have the best engagement rings that was designs by vatche which is by the way available in Whiteflash.com, or maybe they might not even have rings at all but as I have said many times, happiness does not depend on what you have and what you have not. My wedding (and my rings) are so ordinary but I don’t care. What matters tome and to my husband is that when we got married, it was not just us but the presence of the Lord and the love is so present during our wedding and even years after the wedding.

I’m not saying we’re perfect and we don’t fight because that would be a big LIE ( every married couple knew that fight/disagreement is normal) but it doesn’t mean that when you argue you don’t love each other anymore and that you made a mistake in marrying your partner :)

I just hope, the youth learned some wisdom about love, courtship and marriage during that session. After all it was not easy sitting there, telling them your painful mistakes while waiting, the heartaches you’ve gone through and be bombarded with questions afterwards :) I pray they will really wait for the God’s perfect time and for God’s best for them.

Who knows they might even get one of these lovely rings when that big day comes? I pray the husband will give me one someday :) and oh oh..do you know you can have these engagement rings online? yes, that is made possible by whiteflash.com (the first company in the U.S. to offer an exclusive brand of Hearts & Arrows diamond and bring the sheer beauty of “super ideal cut” to the Internet)

So ladies out there, do not be in a hurry, marriage is a gift and it is worth waiting for :)

Realizations. Decision

I married a servant of God, that I knew very well since day 1 of our marriage or even long before the wedding date itself.

So when he decided to work on a secular job on a full time basis I had mixed feelings. I know he wanted to provide for me so he felt the needed to work with a steady income and for that reason alone I was happy, but knowing he'll just work for the ministry part time made my heart bleeds also because I know from the very start that he has a calling.

Romans 8 :28 said.."All things work together for good to them who love God"... and I believe everything happens for a reason. God allowed my husband to work on the same company where I work and it's been four months. He had many realizations in that span of time and yesterday he made the decision of which I am truly happy. He decided to leave the job and get back on track with God's calling.

For sure, the salary he receives on a regular basis is a big help but that isn't the most important thing in our lives. We are servants and we will serve with or without monetary compensations because we know in our hearts that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

I am grateful he was able to experience a job outside from what he's used to. And he said he's thankful for the experience also although I know what he got was a tough and rough job compared to regular office work or some Concierge Jobs but nonetheless we are both thankful for the learnings and experience.

I know this is God's will..why? because I have this unexplainable peace in my heart. I am happy and my only prayer is that He will be more closer..we will be more closer to God than ever before.

God is our provider, our refuge and I know HE will not forsake us, there will be tough times (specially in our finances) but God will always be in control and I know there is no reason for me to worry.

Forgiving

"we can stop forgiving others when Christ stops forgiving us"

And we know that Christ will never stop forgiving us so it only means we shouldn't stop forgiving others too. But how hard exactly it is to forgive when the one you have to forgive is the love of your life? and how many times?

Tonight, I listened to a woman who had suffered so much emotional pain from her husband, and what hurts her most? her husband was a former church leader, a bible reader, missionary supporter, a Christian in all his ways and action except when no one sees him (me think). While listening to her I was saying to myself..oh God I cannot do what she did, I might not even forgive on the first offense, I imagine the hurt and torture of knowing your husband has cheated on you, but this lady has only love for her husband and I hope and pray that someday God will reward her beautiful humble heart. That the husband will find his way home to her heart and shower her with all the love she deserves. I will also remember to pray for her husband, I ma not in the position to judge him and I know if he will only come to the Father, He is ready to forgive him.

And I also pray that our marriage won't suffer as much as theirs, that God will protect us from all the enemies work. And at the same time I thank God once again for I may not have the richest husband in the world, one who gives flower all the time, one who treats at the finest restaurant in town, one who often gives expensive gifts like jewelries or a kymaro body shaper but I thank God I have a husband who fears, honor and serve the Lord the best way he could.

So tonight or today please remember all the married couples you know in your heart and pray for their marriage. It might help.

loving our new home!

We are now settled only because it was an extended weekend for us yesterday. I texted my boss and asked if I could stay home because as I have written before we're moving and we finally did last Friday night. So the new home was mess for three days and yesterday we finally managed to clean and fixed most of the stuff. We already have curtains, did some painting for the kitchen cabinet and it looks good now,

I am so happy..the feeling of going home to a HOME is very new to me and I am loving it!

The only downside is that because it is now a real home, we are enjoying eating together and Carmel and I are planning of learning and cooking new dishes. I know it won't be long till the husband offer me some appetite suppressants or else we will both gain a lot of weight in a matter of time.

But really, though it is not yet fully furnished and there are still adjustments and arranging to be done. I am enjoying it. I realized now how much I miss a quiet place.
